On September 25, the NYC Department of Small Business Services (SBS) launched a craft entrepreneurship training pilot program with online marketplace Etsy. The program, which has 60 participants across two sites in Queens and Brooklyn, will teach participants business fundamentals to help them launch their own online store through Etsy as a way to supplement their income.

Sandy shutdown an important business corridor in Rockaway Park a year ago. One year later, almost all of the businesses on Beach 116th Street have reopened with some help from the government and their “can-do” attitudes.

"What has happened here on Beach 116th Street my hope is it can be replicated time and time again in many other neighborhoods," said Department of Small Business Services Commissioner Robert Walsh.

Navigating the Corporate Supply Chain is offered by the NYC Department of Small Business Services and 11 major corporations to small businesses at no cost.

These corporations include Accenture, American Express, Con Edison, Goldman Sachs, BNY Mellon, Citi, Colgate-Palmolive, Columbia University, Credit Suisse, IBM, and National Grid.

If your company is a City-certified M/WBE, or NYC small business that has been in business for at least one year, join us at our upcomingNavigating the Corporate Supply Chain workshop, Subcontracting and Tier 2 Buying.

This training, an initiative of the Corporate Alliance Program (CAP), will provide workshops and resources for small business participants to help them better understand the basic concepts of private sector purchasing.
