What does a grandmother with a sweet tooth do when her children and grandchildren are diagnosed with gluten intolerance? She starts a business!
Randie Gold started making gluten-free treats for her dessert-loving family to ensure that they still had delicious food. Seeing an opportunity to expand on this niche, she decided to transform it into a business called It’s in the Mix.
Although her concept was strong, Randie needed an online presence to scale It’s in the Mix beyond street fairs and friends. NYC Small Business Technology Coalition member Queens Economic Development Corporation supported Randie with more than 11 hours of website development and social media assistance.
Now that she has a website, It’s in the Mix has been featured on a major gluten-free blog Gluten Free Follow Me, and her products are available in stores such as Agata & Valentina, GiGi Café, and Todaro Brothers.
