After being selected from over 100 applicants to become a Global Good Fund Fellow (GGF). I spent 2014 working alongside my GGF leadership development coach to create a personalized development plan.
I tapped into the wealth of resources that New York City has for entrepreneurs, and made an appointment at NYC Business Solutions. My adviser Jeffrey Hamer brainstormed resources for funding with me. We went over my business plan and looked into various funding options for small businesses. We agreed that strengthening my business plan was the first step I should take in securing the funding to execute my vision. Jeff referred me to Columbia Small Business Development Center, and I made an appointment to meet advisor Glamis Haro.
Glamis suggested I enter the 2014 New York Public Library (@nypl)/Citi Foundation New York StartUP! Business Plan Competition. After I wrote, submitted, and placed as one of the 3 top grant winners in the 2014 competition, I came up with these 6 points for writing an award-winning business plan.
