Recently, the NYC Department of Small Business Services awarded $160,000 in training funds through our Customized Training program to help three NYC businesses afford professional development opportunities for their staff with the goal of reducing employee turnover and increasing productivity.
Brooklyn-based technology startup WeDidIt provides online fundraising solutions for nonprofits, such as a crowdfunding platform and a donor research tool. Looking to scale operations and increase profits, the company will train staff on business development, marketing and CRM to develop a robust sales arm, create new features for their site and further enhance their fundraising software.

Wireless Warehouse, an immigrant-owned authorized AT&T reseller, will leverage the funding to train current staff and new hires at their new retail location to use updated mobile sales tools that will increase customer acquisition by up to 40%.
Customer acquisition was also what led Perez Architecture to apply for training funds. A proud NYC-certified M/WBE, the design company joined the city’s Build It Back initiative to rebuild damaged homes after hurricane Sandy. In order to diversify its revenue streams, they will use the award to train staff on the latest elevation techniques and foundation systems.
