Being “Veteran-Friendly” means creating an environment where veterans are understood, valued and where there is a focus on retention. It does not mean simply listening to the words of “Hiring Our Heroes” from the White House (which is a fantastic movement) and making it a campaign strategy. It is about cultivating a culture which takes time and carries a reputation.
