
"This funding will allow Madelaine Chocolate - one of the largest employers in the Rockaways - to double its current number of employees, which is great news for the local business, and also great news for the Rockaways," said Maria Torres-Springer, Commissioner of the NYC Department of Small Business Services. "Under the de Blasio administration, we have worked hard to turn around the Hurricane Sandy Business Loan and Grant Program - with 170 approvals, up from 7 last January - and also to ensure Rockaways residents have access to good jobs as the community continues to recover from Hurricane Sandy.”
