Yesterday, NYC Small Business Services Commissioner Maria Torres-Springer hosted a media roundtable conversation at Gratitude Café in Brooklyn with HABNET Chamber of Commerce [habnet] to encourage New Yorkers to dine and #ShopLocalNYC this holiday season.
Commissioner Torres-Springer also spoke about how the City can help small businesses succeed during the busiest time of year.
First-time business owners Richard Otto and Annalisa Riordan used NYC Business Solutions services to help launch Gratitude Café in the Prospect-Lefferts Gardens neighborhood of Brooklyn in May 2014. As a result of City assistance, they opened their doors 28 days faster, saved hundreds of dollars in legal fees, and now have a thriving community business with five employees.
