This morning, NYC Department of Small Business Services Commissioner Maria Torres-Springer held a media roundtable conversation in partnership with Sunnyside Shines Business Improvement District to encourage New Yorkers to #ShopLocalNYC on Small Business Saturday and throughout the holiday season.
The event took place at Los Verdes, in the Sunnyside neighborhood of Queens. Owner Javier Quezada, a Queens native, used NYC Business Acceleration services to help streamline the permits, licenses and inspections he needed to open his food establishment in 2013, and was able to open his doors 35 days faster. He now has a thriving business with eight employees.
