Contractors: Learn about Rapid Repair

NYC Rapid Repairs is a free program to help residential property owners affected by Hurricane Sandy make emergency repairs. These emergency repairs will allow residents to stay in their homes so that they can complete more permanent repairs and finishes. Emergency repairs include restoration of heat, power and hot water, and other limited repairs to protect a home from further significant damage.

The City has hired general contractors to oversee the repair work for the NYC Rapid Repairs Program. Each of these contractors is responsible for selecting trade contractors to carry out the repair for a specific geographical area within the five boroughs. In addition, subcontractors will be subject to review and approval from the Mayor’s Office of Contracts.

Please note that the NYC Rapid Repairs Program will not be doing mold abatement, structural repairs, replacement of sheet rock or any long-term repair.

Companies interested in providing the services outlined above and are NYC Licensed Contractors can call 311 for more information.
