On August 15, the NYC Department of Small Business Services partnered with the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City to host a panel discussion and tour in Red Hook, Brooklyn, highlighting partnerships and ongoing Hurricane Sandy recovery efforts in this dynamic neighborhood.

The evening began at The Liberty Warehouse on Pier 41 where guests engaged with panelists from Good Shepherd Services, the Southwest Brooklyn Industrial Development Corporation, and the Red Hook Initiative, who shared their on-the-ground experiences supporting the community in the aftermath of the hurricane and continuing restoration efforts today. The group then enjoyed a tour of the Red Hook Winery and Flickinger Glassworks to hear each business owner’s recovery story first-hand.

Special thanks to SideTour for their help organizing this event, and to the many participating partners that made it a great success and continue to advance recovery and redevelopment efforts throughout the city.
